Thank you, Mr. Speaker. In follow-up to my Member's statement, I have a few questions for the Minister responsible for Housing. As I mentioned, there is a housing shortage in the Mackenzie Delta, much like a lot of the communities in the Northwest Territories. I would like to ask the Minister: are there plans to increase the housing stock? We are doing a great job replacing units, but we still have a housing shortage. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. As the Minister is well aware, we have a housing shortage in the Mackenzie Delta, with a waiting list of up to three years. Many of my constituents, including myself, would like to see new homes in our communities. More importantly, adding to our stock of homes that we have a limit on.

My communities want to start building their own homes for members, with a partnership with Housing. For example, log homes, as we have timber in the Mackenzie Delta, also woodmeisters for squaring logs or getting the logs to size. This will help keep the costs down and increase the number...
