When the Minister says that he wants to hear from educators, we have a rather strange policy that doesn’t apply to anyone else in the public service but to educators. We seem to have some kind of a commitment that’s made to not speak to the challenges and issues that they face, outside of maybe speaking to their superiors within the school system. It is not often that you formally ever hear of a teacher complain about anything, because there is some other rule, which I’ve never really been able to understand or get to the bottom of, that they are not to discuss this.
