Thank you for that lovely speech. I’m all for growing the economy outside of Yellowknife, as everybody knows. But I’d like to ask the Minister, how did the traffic projections for this projected road, this planned road, compare with other regions and other all-weather roads throughout the Northwest Territories. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. We heard our colleague today talk about training so that young Northerners can take advantage of economic growth, all kinds of things.
Will the Minister confirm that when we talk about the amount of money that we spend on social issues as the Government of the Northwest Territories, that addictions should be one of the highest priorities of this government? Thank you.
Mr. Speaker, in a committee meeting when we were receiving a briefing from ECE the other day, and I’m not going to give away anything super confidential here, but we were talking to children about their education, and there was hardly any of them that did not talk about their ability to get an education in the absence of talking about the addiction to alcohol in their family, in their parents or in their community of one of those things. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Today I am going to speak about something that cannot be done any justice to in two and a half minutes. I confess I was late for work this morning because I got caught up in watching a movie on television that was about social injustice. It was called “A Million Colours” and it was about the social injustice in South Africa with the apartheid. It got me thinking this morning, as I was getting in the shower, late as I was, about social injustice in general and I have so little tolerance for social injustice.
