Thank you, Mr. Speaker. We put on emergency preparedness workshops that some of the communities take part in. To date, I think we had nine communities take part in a two-day workshop that we put on. As a result of that, they have updated their community plan. I believe we have another six workshops that we are planning for 2013-14. As a result, that many more communities will be updating their community emergency plans. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

The Highway Emergency Alerting Protocol, or HEAP, was developed by the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs to assist the RCMP and selected community fire departments in responding to vehicular accidents on territorial highways and winter roads.

I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Monfwi, that Bill 20, An Act to Amend the Tlicho Community Government Act, be read for the second time.
This bill amends the Tlicho Community Government Act to modify the eligibility criteria for nomination as a candidate for councillor of a community government, so as to properly achieve consistency with amendments made by the Tlicho Statutes Amendment Act, SNWT 2013,c.9. The bill comes into force retroactive to the March 14, 2013, day of assent of that previous amending statute. Thank you.

I’m not sure if it would fit into any of our programs. Again, I would have to do a little bit of exploring and see if something like this would fit into one of our programs, whether the community may have the ability with the money that they receive from MACA – one of my favourite lines and I know you guys are getting tired of it, but it’s one I keep using.
