Earlier today I made a statement in terms of summer students, students that spend the time and sacrifice going out to school and coming back for the summer and trying to work and save their money so that they can go back with a good savings account. My question is to the Minister of Human Resources. What kind of summer jobs are available for summer students for the communities that I represent? Mahsi.

The standing committee again thanks the Auditor General of Canada and his staff for their work in monitoring the progress of government organizations, and implementing the recommendations of previous performance audits. I thank the Minister for providing us an overview of how it is indeed possible for communities to try to at least establish their infrastructure. My question is: Is there a willingness or departmental commitment to ensure that yes, indeed, these infrastructure projects could be realized? Is the department willing at this time to commit to at least meet the communities’ needs?

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Earlier today I talked about the role of the hamlet councils in our communities. I have, in my riding, some communities that have clearly expressed their aspirations to try to be more independent in terms of trying to provide critical services to the communities. I wanted to ask the Minister what are the steps in how it is that these local community councils could undertake to address issues with trying to repair or build vital service infrastructure in the communities.

I move that this committee recommends that the Department of Education, Culture and Employment develop a curriculum for Grade 1 to Grade 12 regarding the protection of privacy in the on-line environment in consultation with the Information and Privacy Commissioner for implementation in the fall of 2014-2015.
