Déclarations dans les débats

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 69)

Could the Minister update the House as to when he expects it to be issued and, if he's willing, even when he expects it to be awarded?

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 69)

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. The Minister is giving me all the right answers today, and I appreciate it. This is the $1-million question. Well, it is not a $1-million question. I think this is probably a $50,000-a-year question. Can I assure the people over at Growing Together and all the parents and the children who rely on this service that, come April 1st, there won't be a reduction in their funding and that their programming can continue? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 68)

Thank you, Mr. Beaulieu. Does committee agree?

Mr. Speaker, I give notice that, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, I will move that Bill 49, Small Business Tax Relief Act, be read for the first time. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

---SHORT RECESS

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 68)

I will call the Committee of the Whole to order. What is the wish of committee? Mr. Beaulieu.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 68)

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I have to give a shout-out to the women and men of the Hay River Fire Department. Since yesterday they have been working to contain a fire that flared up at Hay River landfill, and for the past week they have been working to manage the fire as it burned underground. For the most part, all of the firefighters have other full-time jobs and family responsibilities, so I am sure that many of them have had some long, tiring days over the past week. That is why I figured that this would be a good time to show them some appreciation and thank them for helping keep our region...

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 3rd Session (day 67)

Thank you. There is a motion to report progress. The motion is in order and non-debatable. All those in favour? All those opposed? The motion is carried.

I will rise and report progress. First, I have to thank everyone who has been working behind the scenes. I know we have had some late nights this week. We really appreciate all the clerks, all the technicians, all the interpreters, and all the Pages who have been sticking it out with us over this last little while. Thank you to everybody.
